Find out what to do next if you’ve had a problem accessing your personal information from an organisation, or if you’re unhappy about how an organisation has handled yours or other people's information.
You should give the organisation you're unhappy with the chance to sort things out before you come to us.
If you complain to the ICO, you’ll need to provide the following information:
- copies of any letters or emails about your complaint, between you and the organisation; and
- any other evidence that supports your complaint.
If you’re complaining for someone else, you will need to send us a letter of consent signed by them or evidence that you can act on their behalf.
If you do not provide the information we need, it may delay the progress of your complaint.
