In this project, University College London (UCL) aim to develop a tool to identify the adequate level of access for the auditing of AI-based systems. This will aid organisations in their procurement processes, information security, data protection and data science efforts. It will also enable responsible innovation, where questions with respect to buying, building or borrowing AI solutions will be more easily resolved.
This work is a first step towards understanding the key components underlying algorithm auditing. This is a UK collaboration to investigate an ‘Algorithm Certification Service’ involving large industry players across different sectors like Cisco and Unilever, key academic institutes such as The Alan Turing Institute, and governmental bodies like the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation.
